RPG Centerline: the first brake caliper with a central banjo

More pad surface than anything else in the scene. Still fits under 12-inch wheels.

      🏁 Why this caliper exists

Brake calipers in the scooter world all look pretty similar: brake line on the side, one shared channel to all pistons, done. We built this differently. The connection sits centered, directly at the bridge, and each bore leads to exactly one piston. Plus the largest pad surface in the scooter scene, while still fitting under 12-inch wheels.

Three years of development went into this. One year of design, then prototypes, testing, and several revisions. The result is a brake caliper built differently at the most important point than anything else out there.

      🚀 What it gets you

You feel the difference immediately at the lever. No piston lags behind the others, the pressure point stays exactly in the same spot, ride after ride.

The large pad surface spreads the pressure over more area. That means less heat per square millimeter and a pad that lasts longer.

Visually, the caliper stands out immediately: bold cooling fins, glossy anodizing in five colors, plus the RPG logo raised and machined instead of just engraved. You can see it from three meters away.

      🏆 The central banjo system

The difference: On normal brake calipers, the brake line sits on the side. From there, a shared channel runs to all pistons, which are also connected to each other through a slotted partition. This has two downsides. The partition gives air bubbles more surface to get trapped on during bleeding. And the pressure drops along the channel, so the further a piston sits from the connection, the less pressure it gets instead of full braking force. That's how original manufacturers build it, and that's how the competition builds it.

Our solution: We moved the connection to the center, directly at the bridge. That's the stiffest point on the entire caliper. From there, a separate bore leads to each individual piston. Every piston gets the exact same full pressure, none of them lag behind.

The side effect: This applies to any two-piece bolted brake caliper that isn't machined from a single block. Two bolted halves spread apart slightly under pressure. As a result, our caliper presses together more tightly at the bridge and becomes even tighter under load. And because there's no longer a banjo bolt sticking out toward the wheel at the bridge, a caliper with this much pad surface can even fit under a 12-inch wheel in the first place.

      🛠️ Material & manufacturing

Housing: Machined from solid, high-strength aluminum. On our production-optimized 5-axis CNC machine, pure machining time is around 3 hours per caliper.

Pistons: 7075 aluminum with hard anodized coating instead of heavy stainless steel pistons. The coating creates a ceramic-like surface: harder, with better sliding behavior, and it conducts heat worse. That's exactly the point, since less heat travels into the brake fluid this way. The elastic seals pull the pistons back on their own, so we don't need an extra return spring. Precisely stamped retaining plates handle pad guidance instead, which also work against vibration.

Centering: Where other manufacturers have to fit their O-ring bores, we have room for steel dowel pins. They center both halves exactly before a single bolt even makes contact.

Bridge: A continuous bridge connects both housing halves at the top. It stops the caliper from spreading apart under brake pressure and makes the whole structure noticeably stiffer.

Bolts: No standard hex bolts. Four hardened tension bolts made from rolled steel, with a large flange and external 12-point head. This allows full torque to be applied and clamps the halves together as tightly as possible.

      🔧 Setup & compatibility

The caliper is universal and always needs a radial 82mm adapter.

Brake discs: All common diameters. We recommend 220mm for maximum braking power, 280mm for the best mix of looks and performance.

Brake pump: Works with original pumps. A radial pump with a 12-14mm piston diameter is optimal, more stroke makes bleeding noticeably easier. We still strongly recommend a vacuum bleeder or a fill syringe.

Brake line: Standard banjo M10 × 1.0, compatible with all common steel braided lines.

Mounting left or right: The caliper is fully symmetrical. If you mount it on the right instead of the left, simply move the bleeder nipple to the second bore and put the sealing bolt on the other side. Also mountable at the rear.

12-inch rear: Tested with F&F / Ottopuntouno wheels. Other wheels, such as Malaguti, may need a 1mm spacer washer. If anything touches at all, it's the cooling fins, which you can safely grind down a little if you're fine with the visual trade-off.
