4-piston Brake Caliper Radial RPG MK2
This brake caliper liftsRPGOnce again from the competition.
Through a larger selection of colors and new manufacturing technologies, we offer you this well-known and established technology at the best price-performance ratio.
Improvements compared to the predecessor
In the further development of the well-known 4-piston design, our greatest claim was to keep the existing design, as it has been established for many years and the scene knows exactly: "what, how, where" fits. Still, we wanted theStiffnessAnd theLongevityImprove. To achieve this, we rely on one for the MK2 versionForging process. A block of high-strength aluminum alloy, from the aerospace industry, is pressed into the shape of the caliper under heavy pressure and in the heat. As a result, the material structure is condensed many times over and the material becomes even stronger. This semi-finished caliper is then precisely milled by means of a 5-axis CNC machine to its final shape.
Even if the design has remained the same, the new look is not neglected. Thanks to a new process for anodizing, the colors now look even stronger and even shinier. Almost like colored chrome.
In order to improve user-friendliness and rule out unnecessary sources of error, we are now dispensing with our additional ventilation valve on the back. A new CNC machinedStainless steel hollow screwWith integrated ventilation valve, not only forms the highest point, which is best ventilated anyway, but also sees with its colorAnodized valve capAlso great.
The 4 brake pistons are now made of steel and receive a special,Low frictionCoating, which also serves as corrosion protection. The steel pistons provide aLonger life spanAnd transmittedLess heatOn the brake fluid like other pistons.
Why a 4-piston brake caliper?
1. Performant and precise pressure point. Whether on the road or the racetrack, the 4-piston brake caliper enables more precise braking, which means that the braking point can be delayed to the last.
2. Longer life and higher heat resistance. Due to the larger area and the better distribution of forces, the energy is better distributed. The resulting heat is released more quickly through the well-conductive aluminum to the ambient air.
3. Better dosing compared to 2-piston brake pliers. Due to the higher friction surface and the double number of pistons, not only is more braking power generated, but the brake can also be operated more sensitively.
-Our new brake calipers are delivered from the factory with semi-metal brake pads. These are a lot sportier like organic coverings and still don't need as long a warm-up phase as sintered rubbers.
-2x new, high-quality copper sealing rings
-1x milled stainless steel hollow screw with integrated vent valve and color anodized valve cap
-Continue with the beautiful and well-knownRPGWooden box, which is wonderfully suitable for storage after shipping.
The hole spacing for assembly remains as usual at 82mm. As a result, it continues to fit all possible 4-piston adapters ofRPG,Stage6, Voca etc.
Adapter ofRPGYou can find here in the shop:Braking system
Brake pads are also available from different manufacturers. So the toppings ofStage6, RPM , Voca uvm. We of course recommend ourRPGBrake pads. OurDouble sintered brake padsOffer the best price performance ratio and you can look at aDoubled braking forceRejoice.
This brake caliper works best with brake pumps, which have a 14mm piston diameter.
As with the predecessor, we do not give detailed instructions for ventilation for reasons of liability. However, the same tips apply here that we have always had for you:
-Buy enough DOT 4 brake fluid.
-- Connect a clear hose to the vent valve and hang the end in a clean glass.
-Filling the system well on the first. So that you don't need 5 liters of brake fluid, you pour the full glass back into the bottle at 3/4.
-Never open the valve while the hose has contact with the air.
-After venting, fix the brake lever firmly. The braking system, which is now under pressure, is no longer touched overnight. The next day, the brake fluid tank is opened and the brake lever is relaxed again. A few last air bubbles will escape upwards and the ventilation process has been perfected.
